2. How can I order a subscription online?

It's quick and easy. Just a five-click process.

Go to www.subsonline.co.uk. 1 Choose an option from the buttons on the left, 2 Select your offer and click "add to basket" 3 Check your basket and click "Checkout" 4 Enter your address and payment details and 5 Confirm order.

Don't forget to set up a password at step 5. You can use your password to access Private Eye Special Reports FREE! It will make logging-in next time much easier. You can see how many copies you have left, change your email address / post address and renew your subscription when you log in to www.eyesubs.co.uk.

Remember, when you order a GIFT SUBSCRIPTION online you can use our FREE E-CARD service to send an e-card to the lucky recipient - on the date you choose and with your own personal message.

3. How will my subscription be confirmed?

You will receive an order acknowledgement email very shortly after completing your order. This will give you a unique subscription reference (PEYE******) and all the details you need to manage your subscription.

4. When will the first issue of my subscription be dispatched?

Private Eye magazine is published every two weeks. Your subscription will start with the next available issue (unless you select a future start date - this is an option at step 2 of the ordering process).

Private Eye magazine goes to press on a Monday night and subscriber copies are the first off the press on a Tuesday morning (before the Friday cover date). They are mailed the same day by Royal Mail's 1st class service and should arrive on a Wednesday morning in the UK. Please allow 3-5 working days to Europe and 5-7 working days to the rest of the world.

Depending on when we receive your order in the mailing cycle, your first copy will arrive between 6 and 19 days after you have placed your order online (in the UK). Please allow extra days if we are mailing your copy abroad.

5. Do I have to sign for my magazine each time it is delivered?

No, your magazine will be delivered by normal 1st class post.

6. How do I renew my subscription?

If your original order was by Direct Debit you do not need to renew your subscription. Payment will automatically be made every year on your current price until we advise you otherwise.

If you ordered a subscription using a cheque or credit/debit card, we will send you a reminder by email and letter - giving you plenty of time to renew ahead of your final issue.

If you originally made your order online by credit/debit card, you would have been asked to create a password. Use this password along with your email address to log in to www.eyesubs.co.uk. Step 1 Click on RENEWAL OFFERS, 2 Choose your renewal offer 3 Check your basket and click "Checkout" 4 Enter your payment details and 5 Confirm order.

If you don't have a password you can register online at www.eyesubs.co.uk. using your subscriber reference (PEYE******) and your email address.

Remember - the information you need to manage your subscription will be on your original Order Confirmation Email or your Welcome Letter.

7. When does my subscription end?

If you pay by Direct Debit your subscription will automatically renew. If you pay by cheque or credit/debit card, we will send you a renewal notice in plenty of time so that you have a chance to renew without missing any issues. Your subscription end-date will be shown on the renewal letter.

Alternatively, log in to www.eyesubs.co.uk. to see how many subscription copies you have left.

8. How do I notify you about a change of address?

Simply log in at www.eyesubs.co.uk. and update your address details online. Or email privateeye@servicehelpline.co.uk giving your name and old address details and your subscriber reference number (PEYE******) if you have it and, of course, your new address details.

Please give us as much notice as possible so that we can update our records in time for your moving date - at least a week if you can.

9. Gift subscriptions

10. What is included in the price?

The price of a print subscription to Private Eye magazine includes access to Private Eye Special Reports and delivery is FREE.

A subscription saves you money on the normal cover price and any discounts will be explained on the subscription offer.

11. I live abroad. How much will I pay for a subscription?

Our standard overseas subscription rate of 38 still saves you money on the UK newsagent price and, like our UK subscription rate, delivery is still FREE!

If you pay for a subscription using any non-Sterling currency, the price you pay will be dependent on the exchange rate of your credit card company or PayPal and may fluctuate.

12. Is Private Eye magazine available online?

We don't have a PDF edition for the entire magazine at present but there is some (free) content available on our website at www.private-eye.co.uk.

Print subscribers can access free downloads of our Special Reports. Please note these are PDF downloads and you will need to have Adobe Reader on your device to view the documents. You can download a free version of Adobe Reader here: http://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/otherversions/

13. Direct Debit

Customers with a UK bank account have the option to subscribe by Direct Debit. Your payments will be annual (or every 6 months depending on your original offer).

If you decide to pay by Direct Debit you will never need to worry about renewing your subscription again. Direct Debit is a continuous payment method, you are in complete control of your subscription and covered by the terms of the Direct Debit Guarantee:

  • The Guarantee is offered by all banks and building societies that accept instructions to pay Direct Debits
  • If there are any changes to the amount, date or frequency of your Direct Debit Private Eye magazine will notify you (normally 10 working days) in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed. If you request Private Eye magazine to collect a payment, confirmation of the amount and date will be given to you at the time of the request
  • If an error is made in the payment of your Direct Debit, by Private Eye magazine or your bank or building society, you are entitled to a full and immediate refund of the amount paid from your bank or building society
  • If you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when Private Eye magazine asks you to
  • You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by simply contacting your bank or building society. Written confirmation may be required. Please also notify Private Eye magazine.

14. Is the online payment system secure?

Yes. We use SSL encryption software to keep details of your order and credit-debit card information secure.

15. Can I order a subscription for delivery to an address outside the UK?

16. What can I do if I do not receive an issue on time?

18. I have a large collection of Private Eye magazines. Do you have binders available?

Yes. You can order these online at https://privateeye.subscribeonline.co.uk/shop. Each binder holds 26 copies (one year's worth).

19. I haven't received my free gift. What should I do?

If your subscription offer included a free gift, this will be sent out separately from your copy of Private Eye magazine. Please allow up to 28 days for your gift to arrive. Should your gift not arrive within 28 days please email our customer services team at privateeye@servicehelpline.co.uk giving your name and address details and your subscriber reference number (PEYE******) if you have it.
